Test the new wireless-capable, web-connect HP printer and earn a $150 American Express gift card

Who wants to try out the new wireless-capable, web-connect HP Printer and earn a $150 American Express Gift Card? Good, I thought so…

We invite you to evaluate a next generation Hewlett-Packard wireless-capable web-connected printer.  This HP printer will allow you to scan, copy, print and fax documents and images wirelessly.  This device will also allow you to browse the web using the removable display unit.

We are looking for a wide range of computer users from novices to experienced testers. The evaluation period will last approximately four weeks beginning in mid August 2010.

We want you to have fun using the printer.  You will be asked to spend a few hours per week using the HP supplied device to complete a series of tasks using different functions on the printer (e.g., scan, print, etc). You will also be asked to provide feedback on your experience via online survey forms. There will be no cost to you.  All the required materials will be provided to complete the tasks, including return shipping.

As part of the beta program, the HP team will also observe the setup and installation of the printer.  The printer will be delivered to your home by 2 to 3 HP representatives at a mutually agreed upon time.

** To participate, you must be available to evaluate the product from mid August through mid September 2010.** (Web registration required, see below.)  If you are accepted, you will be notified of your acceptance into this program within the next few weeks.  If you are not selected, your information will be kept for future testing opportunities.

The HP printer you will be evaluating is not on the market today.  The term “beta” is used to refer to a pre-release product still under development.  As a result, this product has not completed HP’s full quality assurance program and may have errors or defects. A beta test helps us discover unknown errors or defects and fix them before releasing the product. We have learned that HP customers may use their products in unanticipated ways; by placing beta printers in the homes/offices of users, HP is able to learn more about our customers.

During the testing period we request and encourage you to report to HP any and all problems, issues, suggestions, comments, ideas and/or questions regarding the product. You will be able to easily communicate with HP through your personal VOConline Feedback Center.

There are specific areas of interest where your feedback will be particularly valuable. These include:

  • Product installation issues
  • Error messages/defects
  • Product ease of use
  • Customer satisfaction levels

It is our intention to leave the product at your home for the duration of the test, but in the event that there are unexpected difficulties with the product or software, we could remove the product to determine the cause of the issue.

All participants who complete all the required To Do Items and Surveys and return the printer within 2 weeks of the end date of the program will be compensated with a $150.00 American Express Gift Card as a thank you for their efforts.

Operating Systems (OS)

  • Windows XP, Vista and Win 7
  • Mac OS X (10.5 or higher)

  • Have a wireless router
  • Be willing to install the printer wirelessly
