The VTech Retro Phone Review And Giveaway!

Nothing like good old retro to take you back, huh? I love finding things that take me back in the day, and the new VTech Retro Phone, certainly does just that!

Take a look at it!! It is very cool and sleek, yet has that retro look to it. This phone was inspired by the classic corded rotary telephone design. This sleek cordless handset rests face down on the charger, this allows for that classic look I just love!

The numbers/dials are arranged to look like the old rotary dials, but really they are push buttons! Love this feature. It has caller ID and call waiting and store up to 50 calls, which is nice for me, since storage on my phones tends to be a BIG thing! And the handset will display the name, number, time and date of incoming calls. This is especially nice if you just don’t feel like talking to the person calling right at the moment..I KNOW you have all been there, LOL..

Want to be hands free while hanging on the phone? Yep, that would be me ALL the time. I cannot STAND my hands being occupied by the phone, I MUST use them for more productive things (like blogging!!). So the hands free aspect is a fave of mine.  You can also bring more people into your conversation with the speakerphone. My kids love to talk to their grandparents or daddy with me, and having the speakerphone that is nice and clear is a big thing for us. The speakerphones allow you to talk and listen without holding the handset. One more cool thing is that it has power-conserving technology which helps manage consumption for optimal battery performance!

I am very pleased with this sleek-looking, multi-function easy to use phone. This is definitely a phone that all busy parents or anyone, could use. Whether you are busy with your kids, blogging, making dinner, it is nice to not have your hands all busy!

Marika Miracles Slimming Capri!

Are on the lookout for a slimmer tummy and body controling capri? I know I was! The Marika Miracles Slimming Capri was my answer to help me with my problem areas, or should I say help me HIDE my problem areas!

This slimming, tummy control capri does it all. It features a comfortable, power mesh waistband and side leg panels that help slim down those thighs and tummy and give them the support they need. The combonation of this gives you a smooth, toned look that you will love. They also have a little pocket inside the back waistband for carry your things.

The sizing is true to size, so make sure you know your measurements and size when you purchase these. I feel better wearing these when I am doing chores around the house and when I workout. They are very comfortable. Whether you like to weigh your ingredients in the kitchen, portion control or just weighing things around the home, the EatSmart Precision Retro Kitchen Scale is definitely a must have!

It is sleek-looking kitchen scale  and comes in Silver, Black and Red, all very nice looking. I received the silver one and am glad I did, since all of my appliances are stainless steel! It fits nicely on my counter and is perfect for weighing food, ingredients for a dish or other things around the home!

 

The scale is highly accurate and weighs up to 11 lbs! It does not need batteries, so no need to worry about it failing you! The big retro oversized 5″ dial display is very nice, no need to squint while measuring things, it is big enough to see easily.

It is easy to put together too. Just use a screwdriver and unscrew the screws, pull off the foam protector and put the little weigh holder back on with the screws. Easy peasy! Now you are ready for some weighing!

The  1.5 quart stainless steel mixing bowl, which easily removes for convenient mixing of items on the countertop, is ideal for basic cooking and kitchen needs and other weighing needs you might have too!

 

Also, the included stainless steel mixing bowl is 100% dishwasher safe and super easy to clean out. It also has four little rubber things on the feet of this scale to ensure no slipping and sliding around your counter tops!

Weighing food has never been more accurate!  I am very impressed with this kitchen scale and will be using it for years to come, I am sure. Likewise Skin Care Review & Giveaway

Taking care of your skin should be number one priority. After all, this is the skin you have to live in. I always wash my face, use under eye cream and facial moisturizer, EVERY single day. I then will put my makeup on and make sure that my makeup and moisturizer has factor in it.

The older I get the more conscious I am of how my skin looks and I am more than aware of my finer lines coming on, sigh..

 

Likewise Daily Skin Care is a great line of skin care to help you take care of your skin. What sets Likewise skin care apart from the other skin care products is that Likewise daily moisturizers are all-in-one but not one-fits-all. Each moisturizer is formulated with skin-balancing toners to work with your specific skin type!

My skin tends to be on the super oily side and it is acne prone, ugh, so I have to be very careful on what I put on my skin and how I take care of it. Did I mention my skin if sensitive too?? Blah!

I received two products to try out from the Likewise skin care line. The two products were:

Likewise Facial Moisturizer for Normal to Oily Skin

Likewise Face+Body Wash

The Facial Moisturizer for Normal to Oily Skin is certainly a nice moisturizer. I do have to say though, it is quite thick, meaning you have to rub it in good to absorb into your skin. It does leave me skin soft though, and my skin has not broken out from it that I have seen. This is a multi-task moisturizer that has a factor of 50, so I like that. It also high levels of sunlight-reflecting zinc oxide, is water-resistant and sweat-resistant, and it nourishes with anti-aging antioxidants, including soy and vitamins B, C and E! So good stuff. I also like that it has no scent to it (my face is too sensitive to have too many scented products on it).

The face+body wash is nice smelling. It has a citrusy scent to it, but not at all overpowering, just a hint! It is a very gentle cleanser that is pH 4-balanced and contains a combination of deeply hydrating shea butter, amino acids and alpha and beta hydroxy acids, including malic, glycolic and salicylic acids to help regenerate and revitalize skin from head to toe. It is a mild exfoliating wash that is the ideal prep step for all Likewise moisturizers. So, it works great with the moisturizer I received!

These are two great products and when used together regularly, leave my skin really soft, sun protected and nice feeling.

And, since May is national skin cancer awareness month, I wanted to share some things with you all, so listen up!

“Anyone can get melanoma,” says Dr. Pena. “Finding it early is the key to surviving this aggressive, potentially fatal cancer.”

Dr. Pena outlines an easy mnemonic to help remember what to look for – ABCDE: 

·         A is for Asymmetry: Look for moles where the shape of one half is different from the other.

·         B is for Border: Look for moles with irregular, scalloped, or jagged borders.

·         C is for Color: Look for moles with multiple colors or variation in color-especially shades of black, brown, blue, red, or white.

·         D is for Diameter: Melanomas are usually larger than 6 millimeters (the size of a pencil eraser) but they can be smaller too.

·         E is for Evolution/Evolving: Moles that are undergoing ANY kind of change, especially as outlined above, need to be evaluated by a medical professional.

“Another good rule of thumb to follow is the ‘ugly duckling’ sign,” advises Dr. Pena. “If you spot a mole that just doesn’t look like anything else you currently have or have seen before, then it needs to be checked.”

When melanoma is found early, it is almost 100% curable, adds Dr. Pena. Having a full body exam is an easy process. A trained dermatology provider can perform a head to toe exam at a routine appointment.

In addition to doing self exams and having an annual full body exam, there are simple things Dr. Pena suggests can be done to reduce the risk of melanoma.

·         Stop outdoor and indoor tanning. Research shows indoor tanning increases a person’s melanoma risk by 75%. Getting a base tan prior to a vacation does not protect you, it only increases the chance you’ll develop skin cancer.

·         Use sunscreen every day. Look for an SPF of at least 30 as well as Zinc (no less than 6%) on the ingredient list. Apply 20 minutes before outdoor activity and reapply every 2 hours that you are outdoors and more often if you are sweating heavily or swimming. Even on cloudy, rainy, or snowy days you need to wear sunscreen if you are exposed to the sun.

·         Limit your outdoor activity to early morning and later afternoon. UV radiation is most intense during the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM. Plan outdoor activities to minimize exposure.

mod. Designer Camera And Photographer Accessories (Review & Giveaway)

I received the mod. Compact Camera Pouch and Strap to review. I chose this because well, my camera is compact and I do not have a case for it. So, I was happy to finally get one for my 1974 camera (not really, but my camera is so old, I NEED a new one, sigh!). So, now my camera can be safe inside of a super cute  camera pouch!

The wrist strap attaches in place of an existing strap. The decorative portion of the wrist strap is 7.5” long, the entire strap is 10” long. There is an adjustable piece that can be used to tighten the wrist strap around your wrist. I really like that it is adjustable!

This is a pure ‘First cold press’ which refers to the way the olives are treated at the mill, which means they don’t use heat and they use only the oil from the first press. Many olive oil producers will re-press the olive paste from the first press to make a lower grade oil. Nudo never does this. So, this is a pure olive oil which is great for drizzling, dipping and roasting!!
