The Muppet Christmas Carol For the Very First Time on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, Digital and On-Demand November 6, 2012!!

I remember growing up as a child, watching the wonderful Muppets every time they were on t.v.! Oh the memories they bring back for me!! All of my siblings and me would sit in front of our tiny t.v. and eat popcorn and watch the Muppets! Loved those times!

Now, The Muppet Christmas Carol, for the VERY first time, will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Digital and On-Demand tomorrow, November 6th!!! Super cool!!

We received a copy to check out, not that we have not seen it before, but heavens, we have never seen it like this! My kids and I got that popcorn out and turned this on for a night filled with memories and those hilarious and friendly Muppets I grew up with! The kids loved this movie and so did I, all over again!

My Family’s Holiday Traditions

Do you and your family have a holiday tradition that you do every year? Me and my family do! And the kids absolutely love it!

Every year my family has a pre-Christmas get-to-gether. We get the family together (grandparents, cousins, etc..) and we will either go to dinner, go Christmas shopping, go see a movie or just hang out at each others homes. This is a great opportunity to get together before the actual holidays and talk about our year we had, our hopes and dreams for the following year and more.

We play board games, eat finger foods, watch holiday movies and just hang out. My kids love this, because they have so many cousins to play with, that they do not get to see a lot during the year! They get to be together, play and just have fun!

After we have the whole family get to gether, me and my kids will then have a night of baking Christmas cookies! I get out ingredients for chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies and all the goodies to decorate the sugar cookies with. We have such fun baking and creating our cookies, together!

After we bake the cookies, me and the kids will read Christmas stories, their favorite is (of course!) “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and then we will either watch a Christmas movie or play a board game!

 

I try to make the holidays super fun for my family by doing something fun and magical each year. It is very important to me to do these things with my kids. I want them to grow up and remember all of the fond times we had as a family! Nothing is more important than family!

10 Holiday Planning Tips

How do YOU plan for the holidays? Do you make a list of everything you need to do and mark it off as you accomplish something? Do you use a computer to plan your holiday outings?

Or, are you like me and just do things as they come along? I am easy peasy when it comes to things like planning for the holidays. Afterall, it is a time to enjoy one another, right?

But, to make things a bit easier, I have typed out a few things for you below! Feel free to add your planning tips in the comments section below!

1.) Definitely get that family picture taken before things get too rushed. We like to take our holiday pictures in July! Yep, you heard me right. The sooner it is done the better and then I can order my stylish holiday cards early!!

2.) Grab up those coupons! You can find them online or in your local newspaper. I recommend clipping them and using them! They do help, trust me!

3.) Take advantage of online shopping and FREE shipping! Last year I did this and bought the same stuff online for the same prices AND got free shipping! I bypassed the HUGE holiday rush and got my shopping done in no time and delivered to my door!

4.) Do your grocery shopping at NIGHT, for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I kid you not, you will miss the big crowds of people if you can shop at night. Best time at night? 10pm!

5.) Have a pre holiday party and invite over some close friends and family. Hand them some holiday lights and decorations and start decorating! Serve them a nice meal and when they leave, they will leave full and happy and your home will be decorated for the holidays! Ha!

6.) Start holiday shopping in January when the sales are the BEST. Stock up and stick the gifts in your closet. I do this every January and by the time Christmas is here, ya, I am good to go and then some!!! My family gets spoiled! And we do donate a lot too.

7.) Plan a time when you and your family can visit a rest home. Trust me, the old people in the rest homes appreciate it soooo much. They long to be hugged and talked to. It really makes my holiday brighter doing this with my kids and my sisters kids each year!

8.) Have a craft day with your kids and their friends. Have them make holiday ornaments for the tree and garland too! I buy supplies at the local dollar store and the kids have so much fun doing this! You will have such a festive and fun home, after your kids are done! Makes for cheap decorations (and special ones!) too!

9.) When people come over for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, have them each bring one or two dishes. Make it into a potluck where everyone pitches in or brings a dish. That way everyone has something that they like to eat, so you never have to feel badly for someone not liking something you made!

10.) Lastly, send everyone home with leftovers! I know everyone loves holiday leftovers, but not for 1 week in a row, am I right?! Send home some of those leftovers with other family members! That way nothing is wasted and you don’t have to feel bad for wasting when people are starving somewhere in the world.

When everyone that I emailed has called in and recorded a message, I then can go through and listen to the messages and put them in order, delete or keep them! After that is done, I order it and it is sent to me! So simple to do, the only hard part was getting EVERY ONE to do their part and call in and record a message! I had to email my family several times and threaten them at one point, LOL! But, everyone did it and now it is complete!

My parents will receive this on their Anniversary which is on December 27th. I will let you know their reactions, when I give it to them. I did, however, get to take a peek at it, and it is absolutely beautiful! Talk about a neat idea for a gift for that special someone or grandparents that don’t get to see your kids very often!

I received a copy of “The Search For Santa Paws” and found it to be absolutely adorable. My kids love this movie and love the puppy in this movie. The story is so sweet and magical! My favorite part is all the singing and magical moments, my kids favorite parts are of course, Santa Claus and his reindeer! They make everything look so real! I also love that  all the animals can talk, and only those that believe can hear them! This movie makes you sad, happy and also makes you laugh! How could a movie with a warm fuzzy puppy AND Santa Claus, not be a special movie for all to love?!? We watch this movie AT LEAST once a day. This is not a movie that gets on your nerves or you want to hide it, because you don’t want the kids to put it on one more time. I WANT to watch this movie. I absolutely love Christmastime, so maybe that is why I love it so much!

Wendell August Santa Snack Plate & Tumbler Review/Giveaway!

Wendell August has some very elegant pieces on their site. The quality and look of everything I saw intrigued me. I really liked everything. I wanted everything! I was able to pick out a product that I really liked, and I chose the Wendell August Santa Snack Plate & Tumbler. Oh it is so cute!

I picked this, because we don’t have a Santa plate for Santa’s goodies and I thought, when the kids get older, they can use this for their kids! So, the Santa Snack Plate and Tumbler arrived pretty quickly and out of the box it came to look at. The tray is metal and the glass is a red mug. On the metal snack plate, there is a round spot to put the mug into. There is also a picture of Santa on it and it says “For Santa With Love”!! Oh this is truly a great piece and my kids are so excited to put cookies on the plate and add milk to that cup! You can also personalize this plate!! How neat is that?!
