BEAUTY TIPS FROM GRANDMA AND WHY THEY WORK

It is hard to believe that instead of Googling or consulting a beautician, we can simply turn to our grandmas for useful, timeless beauty tips and advice.

Grandma learned from her grandma and practiced these beauty tips for years. So, here is a compiled list of helpful, tried and true beauty and skincare advice from grandma herself!

Don’t use soap

Using too much soap can remove natural oil from the skin and make it dry. Older women preferred making cleansers at home and would use these to clean their skin. Potato, papaya, pineapples can help exfoliate your skin. You can also dry brush your skin for natural exfoliation.

Sleep is important

One of the advice that old women stress a lot of importance on is getting good sleep at night. Irregular sleep causes dark circles and also makes your face look dull.

It is all about food

Ask your grandma and she would say that your skin is all about what you eat. Old women cooked at home and did not like to eat out much, but these days many women tend to overlook the importance of healthy eating food.

Vaseline is my best friend

Grandma used vaseline to treat almost every skin problem. Be it using vaseline as a moisturizer for dry skin, as a lip balm for chapped lips, or as a makeup remover, grandma knew every possible use of vaseline in her daily life.

Take baths over showers

Grandma advises taking baths more often than showers. Baths can relax the nerves, remove dead cells and moisturize the body. Taking bath treatments is a good idea and it does not hurt to take it once or twice a week.
