Casper is a sleep startup that launched just over a year ago with one perfect mattress. Although they weren’t part of the 90’s, they are still ALL about the bedroom and they helped inspire me to write this fun post!
Yes, I grew up in the 80’s AND 90’s and it was certainly a unique time! Big hair, shoulder pads, acid wash jeans that went up to your belly button (or beyond..) and more! Goodness those were the days!
Not only was style and hairdos going crazy, but so was my friends bedrooms! I had one friend who had a bedroom that only a 90’s child would adore! I was so envious! I had 6 other siblings, so having a room like my friends was out of the question! Too many cool things that costed too much money! Gah.
Since I never really got to have a totally awesome 90’s room, I am going to describe one I wish I had, growing up! Might as well live out my dream 90’s bedroom one way or another!
My Ultimate 90’s Bedroom Setup
First, I would definitely have the see-through phone sitting on my nightstand. What teenager wouldn’t want that cool phone?!

TV VCR/Combo. I always wanted one of these in my room! Right on my dresser top! My friend had one of these!

Lava Lamps galore! Oh how I loved watching these as I fell asleep! The lava lamps were so neat and they still are. Both my kids have on in their rooms! They love them!

Inflatable chairs and beds! These were so fun to have in a bedroom! Sitting on them while chit-chatting with your BFF was the rad!

Glow in the dark stars for your walls or ceiling. This I DID have and absolutely LOVED it! Every night was like a show! My room filled up with little twinkle stars (and a moon!). So much fun!

Boom Box! Heck ya! We had one of these! We would use it on the trampoline when me and my sisters were laying out with baby oil slathered on our skin! Ha! Every time we wanted to hear the same song over again, we had to rewind the cassette tape! Oh such fun!

Sony Walkman! This was something I used a lot! To zone out in my bedroom at night or when my parents were nagging me to do something…

An alarm clock with the radio on it! This was a must to have by your bedside! It was large, square and took up a lot of room on your nightstand!

Beaded curtains! Though I never had these, I sure wanted them! I would have taken off my closet door and put these up instead! Totally cool!

Definitely had my walls plastered with my favorite bands like Depeche Mode, Def Leppard, Metallica, Duran Duran, OMD and MORE! I would also cut things out of magazines that I loved and would plaster those on my walls too! Never would you see a blank spot on my bedroom walls!
These are just SOME of the things I would have in My Ultimate 90’s Bedroom Setup. What Would You Have In Yours?

I had so many of those things! I REALLY wanted that phone but never got it. My kids have those stars in their room now! 😉

LOL I’m having flashbacks! I totally rocked those stars in my room, had a boombox and a lava lamp!

I so remember the boom box and walkman! I never had the beaded curtain either, but I sure wanted one. I love remembering the “good old days”!

My brother had a giant Swatch Watch (clock) on the wall. I don’t know what he ended up doing with it but I’m the Swatch fanatic in the family and I know it didn’t find its way to me. I would love to get my hands on one of those again.

Only did I have that see-through phone when I was a teen, I still have it in a box in my basement.
