What Is National Cereal Day?

I wondered that myself! What is national cereal day? My kids and hubby eat cereal most mornings, and I try to buy healthy cereals for them. On the weekends we go big and cook a big breakfast, but during the weekdays, cereal is a life saver!

During the Civil War, Americans were often suffering from gastrointestinal issues because of the way they were eating. Cereal back then was hard to swallow. It was made from bran nuggets and had to be soaked overnight to make it digestible! It was also pretty gross tasting and bland!

Nowadays, cereal has certainly changed! Cereal is sweeter, more digestible and tastes so much better! There are many bowls of cereal to choose from. Some are super healthy, and others, not-so-much. Just read those labels is what I suggest. Though sometimes I allow unhealthy cereal to come into our home, but that isn’t very often.

National Cereal Day is March 7, every year! So go ahead, lift up your spoon of cereal drowned in milk and salute the day! Enjoy a big bowl of yummy cereal!

General Mills has some delicious cereal! We really love most of them but the all-time favorite General Mills cereal in our family? It is Lucky Charms and Honey Nut Cheerios! YUM.

    My favorite General mills cereal is Golden Grahams. I can eat them for breakfast, snack, lunch, you name it.

    I like many of their cereals that we buy weekly for my home. I use like Cheerios and my kids like Lucky Charms. I also use use Chex Cereal for making snacks for the kids and me.
