Do your kids love to hear stories? My kids love hearing stories and they also like to see lots of pictures with their stories. The Storm & Skye and the Secret of the Car Wash is super cute and I had my son sit down and review it for me!
My son is 9 years old and he sat on my bed and pressed start the story on the app menu page. The story started and my son listened to the whole thing. Now, if you know my son, he is a VERY busy boy. He is loud, he is hyper and he does not sit still for much. Though he was doing a few rolls on my bed and a few jumps, for the most part, he was interested and quiet!
When the story was over, my son came up to me and said “That was a really good story, I enjoyed it!”. Then I asked him what he thought about everything else!
What My Son Thought (The App Story):
The story was about a boy and a girl. The boy and his mom go in a car wash and the boy sees weird things. When they leave the car wash, the boy wants to come back to see if what he saw, was real. Then he found a girl behind a door to the car wash. They become friends. They both go in the dark car wash and they hear a dragon! They wake it up and it starts chasing them! They find the knight and the knight tried to kill the dragon but he ends up hitting the wall! The knight runs away. Then the kids make a run for it. But Storm (the boy), runs super fast, slipped and hit his head on a rock. Skye (the girl), gets him and Storm wakes up and suddenly they are somewhere else! Storm sees the dragon flying around and then the dragon flies down to Skye. Skye gets a stick and throws it and the dragon catches it. Then they go through a door and Skye opens the door again to look at the beautiful lake, but all they saw was the roads, they were back home! They went back home and that was the end of the story.
He also loved the interactive parts of the story. He loved pressing around on certain parts of the story, to get a reaction from the pictures. For instance, you could press on the smoking guy (he had a cigar) and he would cough! There was also the knight and if you pressed on his helmet, it would go up and down. If you pressed his sword, he would hit the wall. Just things like that, that made this story even more entertaining!
Me…
Above was my son’s take on this story! He really enjoyed it! As you can see from what he said above, he really was listening to the story and liked it. Otherwise he NEVER would have known what to tell me. I look forward (and so does my son) to more of these cute stories!

My 4 year old has just started listening to book apps on my iPad. They are great for when I’m busy and can’t actually read to him. I don’t think they are a replacement for a good old fashioned book, but perfect for long drives or when I need to blog!
