I have one very busy toddler. Getting him to slow down and concentrate on something is not happening lately. This boy wants to venture EVERYWHERE!
He absolutely loves going outside with his sister and loves going bye-bye! Those are his two most favorite things in the world right now! He is certainly a little adventurer!
During the day and when my two older kids are at school, my littlest one gets bored! I have to work on the computer and it can be challenging some days! I want my little one to be engaged in something and learn from it. There are a ton of toys out there that offer this, and one of them is the Wunderbox.
Now I do have to say, when I was first approached to review a Wunderbox, I was hesitant because it comes with messy stuff like beads you grow in water, sand, etc. The mama came out in me and I almost passed on this review. I am SO glad I did not pass this one up..
Wunderbox comes in four different, fun themes. There is the Dinoland, On The Farm, Under The Sea and Fairy Garden. All of them are ADORABLE and come with some very fun things! The Wunderboxes come in a portable, stackable plastic container that snaps shut when you are done with it. It can be stored easily. I loved that part!
The Wunderbox also comes with a plastic mat that you put under the Wunderbox when your child is playing with it, so that things don’t get too messy. I LOVED that they thought of including the plastic mat with this! Good job!
The Wunderbox Dinoland came with everything we needed for a fun, sensory and playful experience!
It came with the following:
- Medium/Filler: Kinetic Sand™ (2 lbs)
- Dinos Safari TOOB® (12 figurines)
- Prehistoric Tree Fern
- Accessory Box: Amber Gems
- Closable clear bin with handle (14″ square)
- No mess plastic table liner (36″ square)
- 1 scoop
You have to prepare the box. You simply open the sand, spill it into the box, open the dinosaurs and add them, etc. Soon, my little one was completely unaware of his surroundings. He was SO interested in the Wunderbox, that he just sat there and played with it for a GOOD 45 minutes, not saying a word… I was shocked! This NEVER happens with him! Oh I was pleased!
Of course I was there with my toddler, the whole time he was playing. I just sat at the table he was at and had some me time!!! I actually read a magazine for the first time in years! That was nice! Never leave your child alone or unattended if you allow your 2-year-old to play with these. This box is best for kids ages 3 and up. My little one is almost 3, so I just watched him super closely!
I was SO worried about this becoming messy, but in reality, it just did not turn out messy at all. Sure my toddler had some sand on the plastic mat (which when he was done playing I took the mat outside and shook it off), and maybe some sand got on the floor (but I easily vacuumed it up!). So all in all, this was not messy (for us) at all. It is just a fun thing to do for my toddler and he looks forward to playing with it, every time we go into the kitchen. I also let him play with the Wunderbox when I am cooking dinner. Keeps him quiet and very busy!!
The only thing is, we are going to buy more Kinetic Sand, because it only comes with one package of it and with two, the bin would be really filled to the top!
You can purchase the Wunderboxes online at http://getwunderbox.com/. Dinoland Wunderbox retails for $48.99 and the other Wunderboxes retail for $44.99.
One person is going to win the Dinoland Wunderbox! Yay!
