Your Not The Boss of Me! Brat-Proofing Your 4 to 12 Year-Old

Yep, we have all heard it before. Asking your kids to do something only for them to come back with a quick “NO!” and then to be followed by a meltdown or worse, the dreaded “I hate you!” ugh! As a mom of two little kids ages 2 and 4, I have already seen my fair share of meltdowns and the occasional “I hate you” 🙁 Somedays I feel so overwhelmed, I cannot even think straight. I don’t want my children growing up to be “brats” or people that are not thankful or happy with what they have, or polite to those around them.

For the most part, my children are good kids. They say please and thank you, they listen (most of the time) to what I have to say and they help me out around the house. They have their chores. But sometimes a parent needs a little advice on certain situations, and that is where the book “Your Not the Boss of Me” how to brat-proof your 4-12 year old, comes in 🙂

I was more then happy to do a review for this book. Any and all help is welcome when it comes to parenting. This book is a great resource for how to deal with certain situations when your child is being less then a sweetheart. It explains how to deal with your children when they disagree, throw fits and talk back (well, and a lot more…). It is a great eye opener, or at least it was for me. I pretty much knew about most of what was in the book, but there were a few chapters that had me really thinking. I have since tried using some of the advice and strategies on my children. Though I have yet to really see a difference it is great to have this book on hand as a reference for my desperate times and days!

My youngest daughter has four kids, ages 7, 4, 3 & 2. She’s going crazy with trying to go to school full time at night. She has to discipline her kids because her boyfriend doesn’t pay any attention to the kids while she is gone. She could really use this book.
