We all want to know How To Create a Fresh-Faced Look for Spring, am I right? Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Celebrity Make-up artist Stephen Sollitto created a fresh yet very age-appropriate look for Hailee Steinfeld, while Frederic Fekkai Celebrity Stylists Adir Abergel and Renato Campora continue to set the trends on the red carpets by creating gorgeous up-dos for Amy Adams and January Jones.

How To Create a Fresh-Faced Look for Spring
Inspiration!
Campora was inspired by the styles of the 1950s. This look is dramatic, sharp and fresh to reveal natural beauty.
Hair!
On wet hair, Campora began by applying Fekkai Advanced Full Blown Styling Whip to create volume and Fekkai Coiff™ Contrôle Ironless Straightening Balm to smooth out the hair. He parted the hair to the side and blow-dried using a round brush. To accentuate the wave, he used a one-inch curling iron setting the hair into pin curls.
Once he took the curls out, Campora brushed through the hair creating volume and constructing shape for the style. Then, he pinned the hair up at the center of the head, revealing the nape of her neck for the dramatic look. To finish the look, Renato sprayed Fekkai Coiff™ Sheer Hold Hairspray for all-night hold.
Inspiration:
The dress was a statement on its own so Abergel wanted to accentuate the dress; this look is a sleek statuesque do with a modern twist
HOW TO GET THE LOOK:
Abergel applied Fekkai Coiff™ Contrôle Ironless Straightening Balm from the roots to the end of the hair and sprayed Fekkai Coiff™ Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel at the hairline to achieve the sleek ‘do. Next, he blow-dried the hair straight with a round brush. With a straightening iron, he sealed the ends to achieve the flat style.
He then pulled the hair into a high ponytail. A great tip for this is to follow the cheekbone line all the way up, and then place the base of the ponytail at that point. He secured the hair with an elastic band, for an added dimension. Finally, for added shine, he finished the look by spraying Fekkai Advanced Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist
Hailee Steinfeld‘s red carpet look:
INSPIRATION:
For the Screen Actors Guild Award, Hailee chose a beautiful Prada orange, pink and black gown. Stephen Sollitto wanted the makeup to be complimentary to her dress as well as age-appropriate.
HOW TO GET THE LOOK:
For the base of the lid, Sollitto used the deep purple shade from the ILLUMIN8 with YOUTHFUL SYNERGY™ COMPLEX EYE SHADOW PALETTE #4, blending on the eyelid as well as from the crease to the brow as a highlight. Sollitto explains, “This palette is phenomenal, the colors are great and so many to choose from.”
Then she blended the soft pink accent shade 4 from ILLUMIN8 with YOUTHFUL SYNERGY™ COMPLEX EYE SHADOW PALETTE #1 on the crease as well as blending up and outward all the way to the eyebrow on the outer edges.
STEPS TO ACHIEVE HAILEE’S FIERCE BROWS
To define brows begin with sketching in Brow Wiz (Hailee used Medium Ash) over brows using light upward strokes, filling in brows completely, as if you were drawing little hairs. Then use the wand brush on the other end of Brow Wiz to blend the brow color through. This will soften the product and create a natural effect. He also used the Brow Definer to precisely fill and define.
To highlight the brow bone apply Brow Duality (Hailee used Camille/ Sand) highlighter pencil on the brow bone starting above the iris to the end of the brow and blend using the fingertip. To ensure longevity brush Clear Brow Gel in short upward strokes.
STEPS TO ACHIEVE HAILEE’S GORGEOUS LIPS & CHEEKS
Using the amazing wand, swipe HydraFull Gloss in Barely, across the lips.Using your ring finger gently tap the crème cheek color from the Highlighting Crème Duo (Hailee used St Aspen) to apples of cheeks, blending to the hairline. For a radiant cheekbone, apply a small amount of the liquid highlighter along the cheekbones and blend on to
your shoulders too!
I received some products to create my red carpet look too! I received the Lash Lifting Mascara and the Hydrafull Gloss. The Lash Lifting Mascara makes my lashes so dang long, wow! It is a deep black mascara that adds a lot of volume and thickness. It “lifts” and curls your lashes in one stroke. I really like this mascara, it really delivers some great results.
I am not certain that I noticed any “lift” going on, but I did notice that they appeared thicker and longer, which is good enough for me. This is available in Sephora, Nordstrom, ULTA, HSN.com & Anastasia.net.
The Hydrafull Gloss is ever so beautiful and GLOSSY. I can see why this was used on celebrities on the red carpet. It is a clinically tested gloss to help maximize and maintain lip hydration and fullness. It also has a unique paddle applicator (no brush here!), which helps smooth the product over your lips.
It is available in 8 different shades and you can purchase it at Sephora & Anastasia.net in Summer 2011. The “paddle” applicator took some getting used to and was a bit awkward at first. But quickly I began to see why this is better than a brush. It smoothed on my lips a lot better. Great lip gloss!
Disclosure:
I was sent some product to review. The content above, except for my opinions in the above paragraph, were pulled from the press release as were the photos, seen above.
