Check out Soups and Chowders

by Kim Delatorre at Foodie.com

So, the colder months are ahead and some of you are already seeing the colder weather! We are so far, seeing LOTS of rainy weather. The temperature has not dropped too much around here, but I know that it will soon!

Cold weather=soups and chowders, in my book. I love using my slow cooker and I adore making hot soups and chowders on cold and dreary days. They seem to brighten up everyone’s evenings and fill up hungry tummies in a pinch. Add bread or warm rolls and you are set!

What are your favorite soups and chowders?

These all sound so delicious! I wish the weather would cool off more so I could really enjoy the warmth of a soup!

The family loves soup in the fall and winter. I like to make chicken noodle whenever anyone is sick.

We’ve got rainy weather here too. It’s better than snowy weather though, so I’m not complaining. It’s still a good time for soups and chowders.

I like chowders or things I can cook in the crock pot. Anything easy with minimal ingredients are my favorite!

Wow those all look tasty. For me, it depends on the day. Sometimes a hearty beef stew, other times a creamy potato soup.

I love soup and chowder season. I am a huge fan for a good clam chowder. I am the only one who eats it in my house so I have to make a small batch and freeze some. At least I have lunch for myself!

I’m not a big soup/chowder person. But I do occasionally like chili.

My favorite soup to make would be Lasagna soup. It is supposed to be a soup but i add so much stuff it is more of a stew.

I am a fan of soups and chowder. We use our slow cooker every weekend. I made beer cheese soup this weekend. It didn’t turn out as good as I had hoped. I need to tweak it a little.

I love a really good vegetable soup – preferably made in the slow cooker while I’m at work all day. I’m also a huge fan of chili (again, as long as the slow cooker is doing the work.)
