If you love cars, customization, mechanic work, and the thrill of street racing, then you will want to keep reading this post!! The Underground Garage 1.0 is a game that will excite you!
This updated PC game throws you into a world where greasy hands, late-night races, and building the perfect ride all go hand in hand. It mixes car repair simulation game with open-world racing in a way that feels exciting, detailed, and packed with things to do! My youngest son LOVES this game!
From the moment you start playing, it is clear that this game was made for people who enjoy cars and racing! But, it is not just about driving fast (though that is the BEST part, duh!). It is also about fixing cars, tuning them, upgrading them, and turning beat-up vehicles into street-ready machines! Okay, that is kinda fun too…

Is The Underground Garage Game Worth Playing?
One of the things that makes Underground Garage really cool is how much detail went into the mechanic side of the game. You are not just clicking a button and magically repairing a car. You actually work on it piece by piece!
You can rotate, remove, and replace parts, check fluids, test the car battery, and make sure everything is running the way it should before taking the car out on the road. If you like simulation games that make you feel like you are really putting in the work, this part of the game will hook you.

The customization is also a huge part of the fun. There are 20 authentic vehicles to work on, including muscle cars, sedans, sports cars, and compact cars. On top of that, you can change up the look of your rides with spoilers, decals, stickers, neon lights, and different colors, etc..
It is the kind of game where you can spend a lot of time making your car look exactly the way you want, then take it out to show it off and see how it performs! So dang fun!

And yes, the racing is where the adrenaline kicks in. Once your car is ready, you can hit the streets and join races around the city. There are different event types like practice, time attack, and classic racing, so things do not feel too repetitive.
The open-world setup also makes the game feel bigger, because you are not stuck in one tiny area doing the same thing over and over again like you do in some other games. You can explore the city, find hidden spots, visit junk yards and shops, and take on different jobs as you build your reputation.

The story mode gives the game more purpose too. You are not just fixing random cars for no reason. You play as a talented mechanic trying to break into the tuning scene.
And, when your friend Deb’s workshop gets destroyed, you step in to help rebuild it while chasing down the people responsible. That gives the game a little extra edge and makes your progress feel like it matters.

Another thing I liked is that Underground Garage gives you room to grow. You start by taking customer jobs and doing mechanic work, but as you earn more money and get better at what you are doing, you can upgrade your own garage, unlock better workstations, buy parts, and expand your operation. That garage-owner progression makes the game feel rewarding because you can actually see how far you have come.
Visually, the cars and parts are detailed, and the realistic damage adds another layer to the experience. It is satisfying to take a damaged car apart, fix what is wrong, and put it all back together.
The game also does a nice job balancing the calm, focused mechanic work with the intensity of nighttime street races. One moment you are checking the brakes like a responsible little garage mechanic, and the next you are flying down the street trying not to wreck all your hard work! That contrast keeps things interesting.

Underground Garage 1.0 New Features:
Here’s what’s new:
- Vehicle roster expanded from 10 to 20 cars
- Engine selection increased from 8 to 15 options
- Vehicle classes include compacts, sedans, sports cars, and muscle cars
Fluid Maintenance System: Engine oil, coolant, and brake fluid mechanics
Fuel Octane System: Three fuel grades (95, 98, 100) affect engine performance. Higher octane enables more power on modified engines, while incorrect fuel causes engine knock and damage. Wrong fuel or empty tank prevents driving. Auto-fueling selects the best fuel for each engine.
Battery Service Station: New workshop equipment for testing and regenerating batteries with voltage, capacity, and cell diagnostics. Batteries have two states: charged and uncharged.
Expanded Part Dependencies: High-performance engines now require upgraded drivetrain, braking, and suspension components for a comprehensive vehicle building approach.
Campaign Completion: Main story concludes with final missions.
Enhanced Procedural Missions: Expanded task variety beyond basic repair jobs with logical integration to core mechanics.
Racing System Improvements: Adaptive AI difficulty scaling, reputation-based event access and betting limits, streamlined race UI displaying requirements, rewards, and opponent data.
Race Mode Selection: All race events accessible in three modes: Practice (new), Time Attack, and Race.
1v1 Betting Races : Wage money against AI opponents to fund your parts. Players can bet their own car to win their opponent’s vehicle.
And TONS more!!!
Of course, this game will appeal most to players who enjoy cars and mechanic work on them. If you are looking for nonstop arcade-style racing, this may feel a little more hands-on than expected. But if you enjoy working on cars, customizing them, and then testing your skills behind the wheel, Underground Garage is great!
Overall, Underground Garage is a fun and detailed mix of mechanic simulator and street racing action. It gives players a lot of freedom to repair, tune, customize, race, and grow their own underground workshop.
With its open world, extensive customization options, and being able to progress in this game, it is a game that can keep car fans busy for quite a while. So my answer is yes, The Underground Garage Game IS worth playing!
