I mean, I don’t know about you, but I draw a hot bath so I can just unwind, clear my thoughts, and soak my tension from the day, away. No one wants to crawl into an inviting whirlpool tub just to end up with even more tension in your neck then when you got into the tub!
Then, you just end up with a stiff neck and a tension headache from the awkward angle you were holding your head at while trying to relax in your tub. It never ends!
If your bath time routinely leaves you feeling tense and uncomfortable, something has to change! You can’t keep doing this to yourself! So, I did a little bit of reviewing and a tiny bit of research, and I came up with a game plan ladies!
I realized you don’t need to visit a high end spa to help you relax, you just need a few relaxing and comforting products to turn your bathroom and tub into a mini spa retreat! It is easier (and cheaper!) then you think! I did the testing and research, so you don’t have to!

Bath Pillow

Scented Candles

Spas never use bright overhead lighting for a reason! Bright lights don’t calm down anyone! Bright lights can actually can give you more anxiety when you are trying to relax!
So, whenever I take my nightly bath, I have a night light in my bathroom and I light a few scented candles 🙂 It is so much more relaxing than having a bright light shining down from the ceiling! No thanks!
So, if you can dim the overhead lights do it. If you can’t, simply plug in a night light or light scented candles! I like to light lavender, eucalyptus, or vanilla soy candles on my counters or by my bathtub on the ledge! Soooo nice and relaxing! The warm glow instantly helps my eyes relax and signals my mind to wind the heck down.
Epsom Salt & Magnesium Flakes
Don’t just fill your tub with plain tap water. You miss a HUGE opportunity if you just do that! Give your skin and muscles an extra dose of therapy and a direct way to wind down by adding some Epsom Salts or Magnesium Flakes to your bath water. Adding magnesium flakes to the hot water will help soothe your tired muscles so much!
I tend to some nights have a Epsom salt soak and other nights I just want a dang bubble bath to soak in! So having a few different moisturizing bubble bath options near me, is a must! I love me a blanket of soft, soothing suds!
Bamboo Bathtub Tray
Another item that I have in my bathroom over my bathtub is a bamboo bath tray! It is one that extends across my tub walls and is a great addition to my spa like bathroom!
The bamboo bathtub tray gives me a dedicated, dry spot to rest and read a book, hold my phone while I doom scroll, place my lit candles on, or hold a glass of my favorite wine!
Body Wash & Body Sponge
I also have quite the collection of moisturizing body wash and body scrubs around my bathtub for easy use. And I have my loofah to help exfoliate dead skin off my body.
That way, when I get out of my bath, I can apply my body lotion, as the exfoliation helps the body lotion absorb into my skin better! Adding a nice moisturizing body wash and loofah can help to turn any bath into a spa self care moment!
Scented Body Lotion & Body Oil
After my bath, I like to apply scented body lotion and body oils. Yeah, sometimes I add the body oil and lotion together and sometimes I just put them on separately, on different nights.
It just depends! Ha! Adding these things to the end of my bath help me feel pampered, cared for, and smelling oh so dang good!!! It adds to my whole mini spa experience!
Towel & Cozy Robe
When getting out of my bath, I love having a huge cuddly bath towel ready to dry my body off with. Then, after I apply body lotion and body oils (see above!), I will slip on my soft and cozy robe!!! Ahhhhh!!! Now THIS is the way to do it!
