Harvest Snaps are a healthy and gluten-free baked snack and I am so glad that I found out about them! I never knew how much a child could eat, until I had my own kids. Oh my goodness, they can EAT. Snacking during the day and then three square meals a day, we are grocery shopping ALL THE TIME!
Sure they have some unhealthy things, I cannot monitor EVERYTHING that goes into their pie holes, but I certainly try to! I always try and have healthy snacks available to them, after school. So, when they come in the door and say ‘Mom, I am hungry!’ I can reach in the fridge and pull out some fresh, cut-up veggies or fruits. Those get nibbled up usually, and soon they are out the door playing. That is a GOOD day though… Not every day is THAT easy, sigh...
Harvest Snaps: A healthy And Gluten-Free Baked Snack
But, when you are a parent you have to roll with the punches and make the best of every situation, right? Or at least we TRY. So, when my kids feel like salty snacks, I now have a snack I don’t feel bad giving them. They are the Harvest Snaps and we ALL think they taste amazing. However, if your kids like sweet things, then I recommend these healthy gluten-free bars.
I really enjoy eating salty things over sweets, any day. So my favorite Harvest Snaps were the Lightly Salted Snapea Crisps, Tomato Basil, and Wasabi Ranch. YUM. I ate one whole bag in one sitting. I would not share it and I actually did not really share the other bags either. I really enjoyed them that much. I can sort of taste the ‘pea‘ or ‘lentil‘ in them, but that is a good thing as I like peas. I like veggies in general, so these were delicious.
My husband liked them too and my kids, (this was a biggie for me!), really liked them too. I was thrilled. My daughter loves salty chips and the Harvest Snaps satisfied her craving. Not to say that these are salty, because they really don’t have much salt on them, but they satisfy that ‘chip’ craving we all have once in a while. They taste great and are super crunchy!
My boy really enjoyed these too. His favorite, believe it or not, was the black pepper. Not crazy with pepper on it, but you can certainly taste the pepper. He also really really liked the Lentil Snaps Onion Thyme. He enjoyed these a lot.
