I am not one for play dough type toys for my children, simply because of their age (2 and 4) and how dang MESSY play dough can be. But, when I was introduced to Moon Dough, I thought, “this sounds kind of neat” and wanted to go ahead and review it.

My kids received the Moon Dough Barn Playset. It arrived and I actually put it up in the closet. I wanted to find the PERFECT time to give this to my children, because I knew that there was a chance it would be messy. So, the perfect day came, it was beautiful outside and I set the kids up on our deck with their little table and chairs. I opened up the box and started getting everything out. Now, I have never seen moon dough so when I saw the packages it came in (there are three in this particular playset), it was weird! It looked quite crumbly to me, so I was pleased with myself at having the children outside as opposed to inside! I put the Barn playset together, super easy and only took me 2 minutes, and then opened up the moon dough. It is certainly a very unique play dough! Fun to touch and squeeze and mold! But, even with lots of kneading, it was still extremely messy and crumbly! My kids, however, had the best two days of playing with this, ever!!! I say two days because since the moon dough was so crumbly, it ended up falling on our deck and going between the planks on our deck, so I could not grab it all. By day two, the moon dough was nearly gone, because of that. Then, finally it was all gone. Buying more moon dough is easy though, you can purchase it Target, Walmart, Kmart, Toys r Us and more places. So, even though it is extremely messy and it goes quickly it is fun for the kids. I *think* we may get more moon dough before the nice weather leaves for good, and let my kids play one last time with the moon dough. But after that, it will be a Spring/Summer thing for my kids to do outside!
