As parents, our number one priority is keeping our kids safe, healthy, and instilling good habits for kids that we parent. No matter how hard we try, though, kids are bound to get sick, and it is no fun for anyone!
At school, at friends’ houses, or on the playground, your children will come into contact with millions of germs. And, while we cannot watch our children every single second of the day, we can teach them about germs and how to stay safe and build good habits. We can also create good habits for ourselves too.
Because every parent knows, if we fall sick, we never really get any downtime! Not when we have little ones around! So we need to take care of ourselves too! Especially around cold and flu season!

Good Habits For Kids (And Adults!)
Below, I will go over some important and helpful good habits for kids (and adults!) to keep our little ones as healthy as possible! You can never start too early! Let’s get started!!!
Teaching Your Kids About Washing Hands
It may seem like second nature to us grownups to wash our hands. However, kids are still learning about what is important and they are forgetful!! As parents, you should teach your children about the importance of washing their hands. Good habits for kids start by the parent teaching them!
You should explain to them that washing their hands can help wash away germs and ultimately prevent them from becoming sick. One soap you can use is Hibiclens soap to help and prevent germs from living on your hands for up to 24 hours!
This soap is used in hospitals and during surgeries to help keep patients (and doctors!) safe from germs and bacteria. Washing hands with effective germ killing soaps is always the best way to go!
Keeping your kids safe and healthy can start with teaching them good sanitary practices. It is important to stress the need for your children to wash their hands, especially before they eat and after using the restroom.
Preventative Steps During Flu Season
One of the best ways that you can prevent your kids from getting sick at school during the cold and flu season is to keep them home from school if they show any signs of being sick. It is a good idea to give them this tea drink if they are sick. It will help them build their immunity and feel better quicker.
This will obviously help reduce the number of sick children there are in school and help eliminate the number of germs. If parents kept their children home when they had the early warning signs of the flu, it would help prevent so many other kids from getting sick.

During this sick season, it is also a good idea to send your kids to school with hand sanitizer. You should encourage your child to use hand sanitizer any time they come into contact with things that everyone touches like doorknobs, playground equipment, etc. This will help your child stay healthy and flu-free.
Don’t Share Food Or Drinks
Some children like to share food and drinks with their friends at school during lunch time! I know because I have seen it! Kids will be kids and not think about consequences!
They may all want to try a new snack that someone brought to school so they will take turns sharing it. You should teach your child the importance of not sharing food or drinks.
Explain that one of their friends could be sick and this could then spread to everyone who shared the food or drink. This is one of the simplest and most effective ways to stop the spread of germs at school.
Keep Your Kids Active!
Some exercise or simply playing and moving throughout the day helps keep your children healthy. You should be encouraging and even join your kids in daily outdoor activities. Children should get at least 60 minutes of exercise each and every day.
Doing this can help build your children’s immune system and help them fight off germs better. Kids who are more active and participate in regular activities are sick less often than those kids who do not exercise or move around frequently.
Curb Those Junk Food Cravings!

You should also make sure that your kids are eating healthy foods and getting proper nutrition each day. Children who just eat junk food all the time, will get sick more often than kids who are getting all of their vitamins and minerals.
If you want to ensure your kids are getting enough vitamins, you can give them a daily vitamin to help build their immune system.
You can also wear a CravePatch and your kids can too! The NatPat’s CravePatch are cute, fun little patches that are like stickers and can be worn on your arms (or anywhere on your body).
They are plant-powered appetite and sugar control stickers that use natural aromatherapy (no pills, powders, or caffeine!) to help curb sugar cravings.
These patches help everyone with mindless snacking and junk food cravings! These can help you and your child create mindful eating habits together!
These patches have a light scent of essential oils and they are not overpowering at all. All natural! Just peel, stick, and go!! No willpower required!
Helpful Tip To Keep Patches On Skin: Swab skin with alcohol wipe in the spot that you are using the patch/sticker on. Let air dry then apply the patch/sticker. This helps it stay on longer!

Here Are A Few More Healthy Habits To Teach Your Kids
