My Kids Love The Alvin & The Chipmunks: "The Squeakquel" Soundtrack!

So, eversince we got the Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel Soundtrack, my kids have had to listen to it everyday! They are slowly learning just about every song on the soundtrack too. It is so funny to see them dancing so feverishly in my livingroom to some of the songs that I grew up with, but just in “Chipmunk” voices! LOL!

They are getting to be pretty dang good dancers too! Some of the moves they make are hillarious! We have all become more active because of this soundtrack and because it is playing so much, how could you not want to be active? It is fun, silly and upbeat! I think that every household should own a copy of this fun soundtrack!

POURfect Kitchen Tools Review

Whenever I am baking cakes or pancakes or anything that requires mixing and pouring, I hate doing it. I hate doing it because the dish that I had mixed the product in, is hard to hold with one hand and scoop out/pour the contents out into a baking dish. My wrist ends up hurting so bad and one time I even dropped the bowl into the baking dish because it was too heavy and slipped. Very frusterating. What could be the solution or a solution?

I came across some products called “POURfect Kitchen Tools“. Got me curious. The company contacted me, so this was exciting. I was sent a POURfect Bowl and POURfect 12-Piece Measuring Spoons to review. I decided I was going to bake us some brownies and test this bowl out! I like how light weight it is. Very nice. I like that the bottom of the bowl has a non skid ring around it, so that there is no slipping around while you stir or mix. I like that it has a handle, so that I can hold onto that and pour the contents with ease. I love that it has a spout to ensure that your mixtures go into the pan you are putting it into, with little or no spill. And a small pivot below the dripless spout allows the bowl to latch onto the edge of another bowl or stand mixer while it is running without danger of hitting the beater or spilling a single drop. The pivot feature also allows you to easily control the flow when pouring with one hand.  In addition, POURfect bowls feature an egg cracking ledge! English and Metric measurements listed inside the bowls. Made of Polypropylene and available in 1-cup, 2-cup, 4-cup, 6-cup, 8-cup and 12-cup sizes and sets, POURfect bowls are dishwasher-safe and designed to nest within each other for easy storage.Wow, all that in one bowl. Pretty impressive, huh?!

My take on the POURfect bowl? I like it. It makes pouring ingredients into baking dishes/pans so much more easier for me. I love all of the features it includes and the ease of it. What I think could improve a bit? I think the handle is a bit small for me. I have small hands, but the handle seems small. I wish it were a tad bit bigger for an easier gripe for me. Also, a lid would be awesome. If the POURfect bowl came with a lid, to store unused mixture, that would be great. Otherwise, this is a great product to own. The POURfect 12-Piece Measuring Spoons are a great help. It is nice to have those around so I can feel confident in knowing my dishes have just the right amount of ingredients in them.

The Law Of Attraction: The Secret

Do you know what the Law of Attraction is? Do you believe it? Do you follow it? If you do follow it, has your life improved or become more positive? I am and always have been very curious about the Law of Attraction and what it can do for my life and my family’s life. I have been meaning to watch the movie “The Secret” and until just this moment, I have been putting it off. But, I just finished it and WOW. I just might be convinced. I am going to do a little experiment on myself. Starting today, I am only going to think positive thoughts and think good things for me and my family and others. I will keep you all updated weekly, on my progression. I am so curious to see if my life really will turn around and become how I would like it. I am very excited!

For those of you who do not know or understand what the Law of Attraction is, I will try and explain it to you. It is the most powerful law in the universe. Every human being has the ability to transform themselves from any weakness, suffering into strength, power, perfect peace, health, and abundance. If you think bad/negative thoughts, you will get those negative things in your life. If you think positive thoughts, you WILL get positive things in return. Seems simple? I don’t know, but I will see!

Easy Chicken Enchiladas Recipe

OMG. I am devouring the best, most easiest chicken enchiladas ever! And, I made ‘em myself! So dang easy! The kids even eat them! What is the recipe, you ask? It is below!

Chicken Enchiladas

To make this very simple, you need to go to the store and buy an already cooked rotisserie chicken.

*cut up rotisserie chicken and cube it (need two cups)

*8 0z. Package of Cream Cheese

* olives (1/2 large can)

*Shredded Cheddar Cheese (as much as you want)

*Salsa (whatever kind you enjoy)

*Flour tortillas (8-10 smaller ones)

*One cup of sour cream or plain yogurt

Preheat oven to 350

In a bowl, mix the cubed chicken with the cream cheese (soften it in the microwave first to mix easier). Next, lay out the flour tortillas in a 13×9 pan ( I think that is the size, LOL) and spoon the mixture into the center of the tortillas. Fold up the tortillas and put seam face down in dish. Next, mix the salsa and sour cream in a bowl and spoon it over the chicken enchiladas. Put the enchiladas in the oven for 20 minutes, uncovered. When timer goes off, put as much shredded cheese on the top as you so desire and cut up olives too. Put back into the oven for 15 minutes. Take out, let cool, serve and enjoy!

SUPER easy and sooooo good. It is creamy and I seriously have not eaten a better chicken enchilada (sorry Mom!).

Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil Review & Giveaway!

I really like coconut, always have. When we visited Hawaii a while back, I remember eating one and how it tasted and smelled. It was paradise indeed! I never really thought to cook with coconut though. I always just associated coconuts with eating them raw and drinking their milk. Until I came across Tropical Traditions website. I was able to review a 32 oz. Jar of Coconut Oil.

K, to tell you the truth, when I received it, it just sat on my counter for a few days. I stared at it and read the label as did my husband, but that was about it. I will tell you why… I really had no clue what it was to be used for. I did not know if I was suppose to cook with
it or smear it on my legs, just did not know. The label to me, was not clear on this. So, of course I went to their website again, and digged deeper. What I found out amazed me, it really did. I found out that not only can you cook with this coconut oil, you can use it on
your skin, on your lips and even in your hair! Yep, you heard me right. Think of the possibilities if this were true! So, I had to give it a whirl. The first thing I made was brownies from a box. But, instead of using 1/2 cup of vegetable oil, I used the Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil. The batter to my brownies seemed more clumped and not so smooth, but I was going to do it! Next, I smeared a little coconut oil in my baking pan that I was going to be cooking my brownies in, instead of using butter. Poured the batter into the pan and stuck it in the oven. In about 10 minutes, I started to smell chocolate and coconut fill my kitchen! Oh, man, this just might be good I thought!

When it came out of the oven, the brownies were not fluffy, but well, more like brownies in my opinion and just they way I like them to look. When they cooled, I cut myself a piece and Oh. My. Goodness. Talk about a yummy new twist on chocolate brownies!! Coconut flavor filled my chocolate brownies and I could not just eat one. When my husband got home from work I watched him as he ate a brownie, not telling him what I did to them. He took a bite and looked at the brownie, and stuffed it into his mouth. He thought it was so good the way I made them! My kids could not get enough of them either. They are long gone by now, but now I have an extra special new way to
make our brownies and everyone loves them!

Real quick, back to when I was making the brownies, my kids were staring at me, LOL, because I was using the left over coconut oil to rub onto my elbows as I was baking. I had to giggle to, I am sure they thought I was nuts dabbing “food” onto my skin. Haha. Love it!

So, it passed the food test. Does it pass the body test? I had to try it out after my bath. I took a little bit out of the jar and brought it with me to the bathroom. After my bath I used it all over my body. Oh gosh, I smelled like Hawaii, totally. Yes, it is greasy, but it is oil,
so I expected this. That is why I used it at night after my bath. I put my clothes on and went to bed. In the morning I still smelled like coconuts and my skin was very soft. I just want to say I have never met a product that was able to do so many things, ever. This is really an amazing product. I am still learning what else I can use it for, as there are so many, but for now, those are the two ways that I tried this coconut oil, and it is wonderful!

Well, here it is! My review for the Oreck Pilot Vacuum that I received :) Are you ready? I know I am! The Oreck Vacuum has always held a high standard vacuum with me. Though I was never able to afford one, I always have to opt for the cheapies and then they break right away or have no suction, so this was a real treat being able to review an Oreck vacuum!

Some asked me if I went on a cleaning spree with my new Oreck. Well, yes, of course I did! I had to and actually wanted to! Who would not want to vacuum every part of their carpet with a vacuum like this in your home? I have never really minded vacuuming in the first place, but this machine is just WOW. I am not saying this because I received it for free, I am saying this because it is TRUE.

When I opened up the box, and a big box it was, I was a bit confused. There is quite a few pieces that need to be put in their place, but it is just mainly the hoses and extra attachments that make it look that way. Fairly easy to put together. It only took me 20 minutes and that was because my little kids were running off with the hoses and parts that I needed to put this Oreck together! Otherwise it probably would have taken 10 minutes had I been alone. Now, I could not believe how LIGHT this vacuum is, wow. I picked it up with my pointer finger, yep, my pointer finger! No more breaking my back with vacuums, ever! It is only 10 lbs!!

Once all put together and standing upright, I was very excited to get the show on the road :) Oh, I did want to mention that it also comes with a handheld vacuum! A total plus. I seriously had no idea that it came with that too! Oh, I am excited as one can be right now, about a vacuum :) So, at first, when I had it all plugged in, I was searching and searching and searching some more for the pedal that allows the vacuum to come down so that you can start vacuuming. Even my husband had to search the vacuum, to no avail. It was my husband who said, go get the manual, LOL. So I did and immediately figured it out. It does NOT have a pedal, you just simply put your foot on the top of the vacuum and gently pull the vacuum handle down, that is it!

The first room I vacuumed was my dining area. The lightness and smoothness of this machine is just amazing really. A feature I noticed too, when I was in the middle of vacuuming is that it has to powers on the handle. One is powerful, but the second one is super powerful! This machine just keeps getting better. So, as you can see this vacuum pretty much has everything you need to make your home very clean! And boy do I love mine :)

So, my take? I like this vacuum. Yes, I did get a bit confused and it did take me awhile to find the way this vacuum goes down, so that I can vacuum. But a quick glance in the manuel and I had it. This is a lightweight vacuum and can pivot around anything. It is easy to handle and cleans like you would not believe.

Some dislikes? The only thing I could find on this machine that maybe I would have liked, was that a retractable cord would have been nice. I tend to not usually have time to nicely wind up my cord after vacuuming and just like the ease of being able to step on a button and have the cord whip back into the machine and I am done. But, my husband said to me, and it made me think “it is just one more thing to wear out and break”. So he likes the manual hand wrapping the cord ourselves. You know, he might be right. And with a vacuum this nice, I want to take good care of it.

SLEEPING BEAUTIES: NEWBORNS IN DREAMLAND

Sleeping newborn babies, need I say more? Nothing on earth is sweeter, more tender and innocent than a sleeping baby! I love watching my babies sleep and love taking pictures of them falling asleep in silly places. Can’t get enough of seeing those kinds of pictures. Well, apparently I am not the only one who feels this way! Two internationally acclaimed photographers Tracy Raver and Kelley Ryden who are also sisters and are quickly becoming leaders in a new genre of studio photography: newborn baby portraiture. And oh my goodness are they GOOD!

I received a beautiful copy of Sleeping Beauties: Newborns In Dreamland and I am so in love with it! The way these two photographers capture these sleeping babies is amazing to say the least. From the babies facial expressions down to the way their little bodies are posed, is so cute! This is certainly a book that you don’t want to miss out on at least looking at!

Of course I am going to add a picture of each of my sleeping babies too!

When I received this book, I sat down on the couch with my two little kids and we went through it. My kids loved to look at the newborn baby pictures and commented on each one. They want to look at the “little babies” all the time! This is not a childrens book, so I don’t let them look at it by themselves. This is Mommy’s book! I keep the book at the top of my book shelf so it is displayed for everyone who comes over to see. It even has little sayings by each picture. Beautiful, capturing and memorable!
