There are baby showers and then there are ‘Baby Sprinkle’ showers! I did not know about the ‘sprinkle’ showers until a little bit ago because they are a newer trend, so I did not get to have one of those!
A baby sprinkle shower is for the second (third, fourth, etc.) baby! When you are pregnant with your first, you get the baby shower. When you are pregnant with your next child (or so on!) those are called a ‘Baby Sprinkle’. Too cute, right? I thought so!
A lot of moms want a second baby shower for their next child, especially if they are a different gender than your first baby. That makes sense to me. You want girly things if it is for a girl and boyish things if you are having a boy. You get the picture!
A Baby Sprinkle is a smaller version of the big baby shower you had for your first baby. You still send out invites and you can play fun baby-themed games, but you don’t register at any stores. You just keep it real simple!
5 Ways To Throw A Baby Sprinkle!
1.Get the older siblings involved! If they are old enough, have them help create the invites, why not! Then take them somewhere and get them printed out. Talk about a fun way to get that big brother or sister involved in some planning fun!
2.Plan some fun games! I don’t like the baby games played at many baby showers only because everyone does them. I like unique games for real adults to play! Why not play spin the bottle and when the bottle lands on someone, they have to give their best baby advice to the mommy-to-be! Have someone write down this advice in a cute notebook, as people are giving their advice so you don’t miss out on any of it. Don’t forget to say who offered that advice too!
3.Food! Of course, there HAS to be food! But don’t worry about a cake like with the first shower. This time I would opt for cute cupcakes and finger foods. Perfect for a baby sprinkle!
4.Ask for Luvs Diapers! Hey, no shame for asking for diapers because you KNOW you will be going through them like CRAZY! Am I right? I really like Luvs because they are softer and more absorbent than ever before. They have large stretch tabs that make for easy fastening, they have ultra-leakage protection (think night time blowouts being contained!!) and a money-back guarantee! The Luvs Ultra Leakguards with NightLock Plus provides the high-quality features that parents (and baby!) need, for a lot less money, than premium brands. You can’t go wrong buying a new mom or seasoned mom Luvs diapers! Luvs diapers are available in sizes newborn through 6 and have fun designs!
Plus, if you are going to buy Luvs diapers, Luvs is offering some awesome savings this month! Grab Sunday’s paper (April 30th), for an insert from P&G with a Luvs coupon offering $2 off of any one diaper pack. The expiration for that coupon is 5/13/2017, so you have time!! AND a $1 print-at-home coupon! You can use this coupon at any mass, discount, or grocery stores where Luvs Diapers are sold!
5. Make it laid back! No one likes to go to an uppity, no children allowed party! I know I don’t. I like to go to parties where my kids and hubby are invited to also! So, let your party goers invite their kids and significant others too! Have games and toys for the smaller kids!
There are so many ways to create and host a Baby Sprinkle! I just wish I had the chance to have one with my second and third child! How fun that would have been!

AWW I wish they had thought of this years ago when I had my other kids. I only got 1 shower and had 6 kids. Sure would have been nice and a great help.

Hmmm…I never heard of a baby sprinkle party. I honestly don’t know how I feel about it. So I’ll just leave it at that.

As far as having the baby’s siblings writing out invites and so forth, I can feel my grandmama spinning in her grave. Y’all, you can’t throw your own baby shower/sprinkle and neither can your kids/partner! That’s just tacky!

I love the idea of a baby sprinkle! It makes more sense to me, sort of to fill in the blanks for what mom doesn’t have yet. And you can’t have enough diapers!

Yes I’ve been to a few. One recently in march. It was a friends nieces baby sprinkle. Her first baby but her mother in law had pretty much gotten her everything she need for the baby. So my friend threw her a baby sprinkle. And asked for diapers and wipes, because come on you can never have enough! It was fun and nice.
