Smooshies, what are they? They are the cutest little soft plush toy for your kids, ever! I had the chance to recently review one of these cuddly creatures (well, my two kids did ;)) and I have to say they are unique and so neat! They are a great way for your child to release their creativity. Kids can create anything they can imagine; a friend, monster, dog, robot or an alien from another planet! The possibilities are as endless as your childs imagination! All the pieces have velcro on them, so that they can stick to the fabric easy and be pulled off easily too.
When I received this package I was super excited to open it up and let my son and daughter play with it. I gave it to my son and he immediatly created a creature unknown to man, LOL! He and his sister (though the totally fought over who got to play with it first), had so much fun creating their creatures. They only played with it for about 20 minutes, then they were off to do other things. So though it did not hold their attention for very long (NOTHING does), it was fun while they did play with it. We have had it in the home now for about 2 weeks, and it has not been played with that much since the first initial day. I think because all the pieces are strewn all over my home! As I look down by my feet, as I typed this, I see a leg to the creature in a vinyl bag with other odds and ends my son has found throughout our home, sigh..
Below: My 19 month old daughters creation! LOL..
So, what are my thoughts on this “Smooshie” creature? I think it is fine for travel, to keep your kids busy or to bring along to the doctors office so your child can play with it quietly. As for just using it at home? My kids loved it initially, but then forgot about it the next hour. But, like I said before, my kids do not have a very long attention span! They now no longer even know that they exist, let alone play with them. Very cute though and great for travel!
