Have you ever had a child (or YOU?) with eczema? If you have, you know it is heartbreaking at times, to see your child all rashy, itchy and just plain miserable! I hate seeing my kids skin in terrible condition 🙁

My firstborn, had eczema, but he grew out of it, thank heavens. My daughter, who is almost 7, ALWAYS had horrible, itchy and dry skin, her whole life. It started around 1.5 years and it has not gone away since. It gets bad some days and other days it is hardly visible. But, it is ALWAYS there, lurking.. Then, with my last child, he has it too. He has it like his sister, unfortunately. His flares up horribly and I can barely use anything on him, ever. Breaks my heart so bad!

I have brought all my kids to the doctor, for their skin issues and each time, the doctor told me the same thing. It was eczema and it ‘could’ go away. We have been prescribed creams, ointments, pills and more for the treatment, but I never liked using these ointments and creams because they were steroid creams. I tried essential oils and that seemed to work some, but I have to read up on it more, to fully understand and use the essential oils properly. Then, there came AVEENO Eczema Therapy Care Collection. My doctor actually recommended the AVEENO products, way before I even knew about AVEENO, so I knew AVEENO was a good choice.

I was sent a few products to try out with my kids. I was a bit scared to use this on my kids because their skin really cannot handle much. My daughter’s skin can handle more than my baby’s skin, but that was on a good day.

We tried the AVEENO products during bath one night. We used the AVEENO Baby Eczema Therapy Soothing Bath Treatment the first night. This box comes with 5 bath packets. They are fragrance-free and tear free. It is supposed to relieve dry, itchy skin and irritated skin due to rashes, eczema, poison ivy/oak/sumac and insect bites.

I added a packet of this to the running bath water and put my baby and his sister in the bath. What I really like about this product, is that the soothing bath treatment acts as a natural cleanser and cleans the skin without soap! So, I did not need to worry about the soap part, yay! My kids did not look uncomfortable in the bath and they played for a good 25 minutes, before I got them out. I saw no redness or irritation on their skin, so that was HUGE for them.

The soothing bath has colloidal oatmeal in it and that is combined with a special moisturizer and milled into an ultra-fine powder that you pour into the bath. When poured into the bath, this turns into a milky substance, making the bath water appear milky in color.

The next product I used, after their bath, was the AVEENO Baby Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream with colloidal oatmeal and skin protectants in it. It is also fragrance-free and relieves dry, itchy and irritated skin due to eczema. This is also steroid-free, yay!!!!

I put the moisturizing cream on my baby and there were some spots it irritated him a tiny bit like the tops of his feet. But, the other parts were fine and soothed his little skin really well. My daughter used this all over her body and there was no bad reactions at all. It made her skin soft and feel really good, she said.

I am pleased with these products and feel that they are great for using when your child has the above mentioned conditions/problems. It has worked for my kids so far and I look forward to using it more!
