Are You Prepared?

I received an email from my sister today. She is ALWAYS on top of everything, being the first born, she is damn near perfect! Anyways, her email was to let me know how important it is to be prepared for an emergency, if one should occur.

I found it very interesting and wanted to share it with you all.

She said that at a recent emergency preparedness class ( It was by someone from the Oregon Red Cross) they  watched a video that explained that there is a fault line 75 miles off the Oregon coast that is bigger than any along the California coastline. She did not  remember all the details but they were informed that we are due for an earthquake at any time. And that WHEN,  it happens it will be in the 9. category and would be felt as far away as Salt Lake City. Nobody is trying to scare anyone, just trying to get people prepared for an emergency such as this.
SO… the great need to put together an emergency supply for yourself and your family is VERY important.
There are many different ways to go about putting together 72 hour kits, just search the internet, there are many many sites with lists and such to help you get started with your kits.
You NEED to start somewhere and I advise you to start NOW! Don’t put this off any longer…

She then went on to say that she wants us to be prepared in the event of an emergency. You will have a peace of mind knowing that you have done at least something to prepare for whatever lies ahead. I can encourage you all to put together your 72 hour kits.

This was an email sent to me from my sister, Tamra. I took out some parts and changed a few words, but these are mainly my sisters words. I just wanted to share this all with you as this really is important and I care about you all too :)

Kitchen Necessities

I really enjoy baking and cooking in my kitchen. It is not a large kitchen by any means, but it is my kitchen and I love it! I especially love baking and cooking for the holidays, there is just something about the holidays that give me the energy to bake/cook all day if I have to!

Having the right gear for your kitchen to prepare any meal, is essential I think. I really want a Butcher Block! My Mother-in-law has one and whenever I go over there, I always comment on it. It is so nice! And it would look even nicer in MY kitchen I tell her ;) She has the butcher block island, and those are nice. Especially if it has wheels on it, you can use it anywhere in your kitchen!

Another necessity is the cutting boards, preferably a Boos Cutting Board. I have a simple one in my kitchen, that is pretty large and thick. I will soon need another one though, because this one has been around for a little while and plus, I want a new one :)

Now, when I visit my mom’s house, in their kitchen (which they just had remodeled), they have a Reversible Cutting Board. These are very nice to have. They are super easy to clean, easy on your knives and they really last for a long time. My dad loves it and is always chopping up something on it, whether we are having a barbecue with hot dogs and hamburgers or a big juicy steak, dad is always using his cutting board!

Just having the right things in a kitchen seriously make all the difference in the world. What necessities do you absolutely have to have,  in your kitchen??

I absolutely love shopping for all my needs in one place. I don’t like visiting a store online or off, and not finding EVERYTHING I need in a one stop shopping place. I had the wonderful opportunity to review the Blast Zone Magic Castle Bounce House from Hayneedle and oh my goodness, my kids actually had a calendar counting down the days when their bounce house would be here! It was so cute and the excitement was addicting!!

Setting It Up…

The bounce house arrived exactly when Hayneedle said it would, which was very nice, since my kids knew EXACTLY when that was, LOL! It arrived in two boxes. My husband set this up before he went to work. It was the most PAINLESS set up we have ever done, hands down. This huge bounce house only took my hubby about 10 minutes from getting it out of the box to having it inflated in our front yard!  I could not believe the ease of the set up and the how quickly it inflates! Wow, talk about a great, easy to set up, fun outdoor activity for your kids (and you!!!).

It comes with stakes to put into the little loops on the bounce house and then into the ground, so that your bounce house does not blow away or move around. My hubby added those AFTER we inflated it. You then hook up the blower, which is super easy to do. You just take the elastic little tunnel and pull it over the blowers hole and then tie it. Then you tie the other tie thing, on the other side of the bounce house and you are ready to rock and roll!

Seriously, in like 5 seconds it was inflated and ready for jumping!!!! You just have to take out the tissue left in the bounce house…

Woohoo! And there you have it!!

Can we say FUN?! And, when you are all done with it, or it starts to POUR rain (the luxury of living in Washington, sigh..) then you can just turn off the blower and unhook it. Then untie the other side and this puppy deflates just as quickly as it inflates! Just bring the cord and blower inside and you are done with it!!! Love the ease of this!

Shari’s Berries Review and Delicious Giveaway!

The brownie cake pops were a nice size too. Chocolate covered brownies on a stick, umm, YUM! Hard coated chocolate on the outside and a soft, yummy brownie on the inside. So delicious! What a wonderful treat for anyone, seriously, yum!

Fun, Thrilling Things To Do This Spring/Summer

Are you outgoing and love adventure? Does going on a roller coaster or being driven to the limits excite you? Me, heck no! I cannot even go on a ferris wheel let alone a kiddie ride at our local adventure park, I am a total nerd when it comes to that stuff. We are going to Disneyland in August, so I will have to toughen up a bit, I know!

But, for all you adventure seekers, there is LOTS of fun stuff for you to do this Spring and Summer, lucky you! Have you ever jumped out of a plane? I have a friend that did this, Tandem Skydiving, and she had the other person film it all. Oh my heavens, I was scared just watching that video! But, she LOVED it and did it AGAIN! Talk about a thrill seeker!

Or, you could go on a hot air balloon ride. Could you imagine? I have seen it in movies and have seen them in the sky, but have never been on one and doubt I ever will. But I can imagine the beautiful sites you would see, something to not be forgotten, I am sure. Think, on a nice warm Summer night, Hot air ballooning with your loved one! Romantic, crazy and just plain fun I am sure, but not for me. I will stay on the ground, thank you very much :)

Things I enjoy doing during the Spring and Summer are:

Hiking

Camping

Going to Concerts

Fishing

Going to parks and having a barbecue with family

Traveling (in a car!)

Swimming

Site Seeing

Gogo’s Crazy Bones Review and Party!

Have you heard of the Gogo’s Crazy Bones?! They are all the rave right now and me, my kids and ten of my most favorite moms had a fun time playing with them!

I received a wonderful party package from Child’s Play Pr and Gogo’s Crazy Bones. My oh my was the party package great! It contained everything needed to have a successful and FUN party!

I held my party on April 18th. We had it in the afternoon and everyone that came was very excited to get their own Gogo’s Crazy Bones to keep and play with during and after the party.

The Party Goods!!

Gogo’s is the new hottest mini game toys. They are small miniature characters that come in hundreds of colors and designs. Each one also has a unique name, design, personality and special ability. The Gogo’s are small reminiscents of the old school favorites such as marbles and jacks, with a modern twist!

Each Gogo has a unique number for collecting and is designed so you can hold and throw them with one finger!! Your kids will have a blast collecting, trading and playing with the new Gogo’s Crazy Bones!!

Note: Gogo’s Crazy Bones contain small parts and are not suitable for children under 4, who may mouth toys.

We had Kool Aid and I served finger foods like carrots, apples, the yogurt that is in the squeeze tubes and grapes! I also had some chips in a bowl with dip in the middle. The kids loved all the goodies, food and treats! We had so much fun! My home was a mad house with all the little Gogo’s Crazy Bones EVERYWHERE! The kids traded each other, traded stickers and had so much fun adding stickers to their new sticker books. They all went home with a bag of Gogo’s Crazy Bones and a sticker book!

After the party, I encouraged the kids to continue the action online at http://www.gogoscrazybones.com/en, with their parents permission of course!

We played lots of games and had lots of laughs! What a fun time we all had! Thank you Gogo’s Crazy Bones and Child Play PR for making this all possible!!
