Just wanted to share with you all that my beautiful baby boy is one month old today!!! What a month this has been. We are all so in love with him!!

I have the Boppy Nursing pillow. I use it all the time. With all of my babies I used it and now with my newest little one. There are many nursing pillows on the market today and being a review blogger, I am able to check them out and share my thoughts with you all

Recently I was contacted to review the all new Boppy Nursing Pillow. It is different from the original, that is for sure! This new Boppy was developed with a lactation consultant. It was developed specifically for breastfeeding moms! It has two distinct feeding surfaces, which means you can choose which side of the Boppy Nursing Pillow you want to use. You can choose the support you need, the firm flat surface features a very soft material and provides a stable platform for nursing your littlest one. The other side is a soft and fluffy, fiber-filled pillow that offers a more snuggly surface for baby to lay on. Plus, the wide arm area fits all sizes of mommy’s and the removable belt keeps your baby snug and up against you as you nurse. You can adjust it for your comfort. The best part? The WHOLE pillow is washable! All you do is remove the foam insert and belt and throw it the washer! Love this
My favorite side to nurse on is the firmer side. It is super soft, and my son seems to really like this side. I love that it has a belt, that I can adjust, so that it is snug to me and my baby does not fall through a gap, like other nursing pillows have. It is higher up than the original Boppy, because it is stuffed more and just higher. It really brings baby up to my breast and allows for a great nursing experience for me and my newest love.

There is two patterns available, the pinwheel and the thimbleberry. I received the cute pinwheel pattern and love it. I hope they come out with even more patterns in the future!

Finally, I am able to post this! What a whirl wind of two weeks! As I type this, baby is crying, so I need to go nurse.. sigh. My boy nurses lately, 24/7 and only likes to sleep on his mama. I am enjoying every minute as he is our last!

Birth Story:
First, I will tell you the story! I was released from the hospital at 10:30 pm-ish. took off makeup, went to bed with contractions 7-8 minutes apart very strong ones. I was just starting to get a contraction and I heard a very loud “pop”. My water broke in bed, but did not leak out, thank God. When hubby helped me out of bed it GUSHED EVERYWHERE!!! OMG.. IMMEDIATELY I started getting HUGE and HARD contractions it was HORRIBLE. But, if you all know me, I had to put back on my makeupwhile the contractions were killing me. Before I knew it, we were all in the car RACING as fast as we could to the hospital. By the time we got there I was screaming in pain. I had to check in AGAIN and sign papers with such pain,it was just HORRIBLE. when they wheeled me upstairs to l&d I screamed “get me an epidural!!!” because I KNEW I could miss the chance. Once in the room, three nurses stripped me naked and put on my robe because I could not. Then I got into the bed and the contractions were making me cry sooooo hard, omg, I hurt sooo badly. They had SO much to do before I was able to even get an epi. Ten minutes or fifteen minutes after they first checked me (I was a four by then) they checked again and I was a 7. Ten minutes after that, I screamed I feel pressure, I HAVE to push! They checked me and i was a ten and baby was coming out! They said “no time for an epidural!!” When they said that i had NEVER in my life screamed soooooo loudly and started crying in FEAR. I was supposed to give birth NATURALLY?! OMG, no way. no way no way. The doctor whom i never met before, was pulling into the parking lot and she raced upstairs on ly to deliver my baby IMMEDIATELY upon coming into the room! I pushed for 6 minutes and at 1:40 am, only being at the hospital not even an hour, I gave birth to a little boy! Kellan Dax Delatorre. 7 lbs 1 ounce and 19.5 inches long. This little boy WANTED out, I knew it, but apparently the nurses did not. If they had only kept me and listened to me, I would have had my epi. This was the first birth that my parents did not come to in time, LOL. My little boy is absolutely beautiful and TINY and alll mine!!!! He breastfeeds like a champ and is soooooooo tiny and cuddly. I LOVE HIM! And so does his brother Z and Sissy P!!!!!!!!!! We are in love!!!!!!
So, I posted that birth story on my FB page too, so if you see it twice, well then so be it

We tried for this baby for over 2.5 years and we are just sooo happy he is FINALLY here and OURS! We could not be any happier!!!

Stay tuned for more baby updates, reviews and giveaways!

Love from,
Kim and Kellan

I was talking to my friend a while ago on Facebook (she is pregnant with her first so we were talkin’ baby stuff) and she was telling me about a super cute and unique way to reveal to the world, the gender of your unborn babe! I had never heard of it before but simply loved it so much, I just have to share!!!
This is totally for those of you who are unsure you want to know the gender, but really do deep down inside
When you go into your gender u/s, tell the tech (before he/she starts, LOL..) that you don’t want to know the gender of your baby, just yet.. Have the tech peek at the gender, then write it down (or give you the cute U/S pic showing what baby is..) and put it into an envelope. Then when you have your baby shower, you order the cake, give the envelope to the bakery person ( in this case I guess you would have wanted the tech to write down the gender as opposed to the actual cute u/s pic, ha!) and tell the bakery person what kind of cake you want. Then, tell them to look at the gender and fill the cake with the appropriate color of filling (pink if girl, blue if boy).
The day of your baby shower, have everyone gather around at the cake table. Cut into the cake and if the filing is pink it is girl (DUH) and blue for boy!! SURPRISE!!!! You find out when everyone does and it can be a SUPER big celebration for all!!!! I just thought this was sooo cute and have never heard of this before, as a way of revealing baby’s gender to your friends/family. Too cute!! IF I was not so gung-ho on NOT finding out this time around, I so would have done this and taken video and put it up on my blog. LOVE this idea!
What are some ways you have revealed your baby’s gender or what ways have your friends and family revealed the gender of their child? Anything super unique??
With my first child, I thought long and hard about cord blood banking. I did SOME research and really wanted to do it, but never ended up doing it. With my girl, I did the same thing, but ended up not doing it.
Now that I am pregnant with my third blessing, I find myself, once again, thinking about this. Will I end up doing it or will I just pass on it again?? It sounds like a VERY good idea to do this, but I find myself thinking about money, and how I don’t have that much of it… Collecting the cord blood and storing it, is not cheap.
Afterall, there is no guarantee that an adequate stem cell match will be found for any given person (used for other sibling, parent). BUT your baby will always be a perfect match to his or her own stem cells. So, if you do consider or choose to store the cord blood and your baby does develop a blood, immune disease or a form of cancer (there is MANY more to mention, these are just the few I chose to mention in this post..), then quite possibly they can be treated using their cord blood. (For inherited genetic conditions your child MAY not be able to use their own stem cells). So, storing cord blood in general, is a really good thing.

The possibility of your baby needing to use his/her cord blood might be small, but in the back of your head you will always be saying “what if I did get that cord blood??” IF something happened, I know I would. That is why, this time, I am thinking extra hard about doing this… you never know!!!
I want to hear stories from you all. Have YOU ever had your child’s cord blood stored or know of someone who has? What is your thoughts on this??? Please chime in, I am so curious!

This is a guest post written by Kelly from Texas Type A Mom

Like Kim, I suffered a miscarriage in December. I was extremely upset about the abrupt end of my pregnancy but gained new determination in my quest to conceive again. I have a type A personality and have this innate drive to plan things. I don’t like to leave things up in the air but come up with a game plan. This served me well in deciding when to start trying for my now 2.5 year old daughter and again the pregnancy I miscarried. Miscarrying was a shock in itself but not getting pregnant again right away after seven months of trying came as almost an equal shock. You can do everything you know how to do to get pregnant and your body can still betray you.
In my struggles to conceive again I’ve gotten lots of support and advice. Most of it coming from a good place but some of it has been so misguided, insensitive, and off base. Here’s my list of the top 10 things not to say to someone that’s trying to conceive.
A better comment if you don’t know what to say or unsure of how your comment might be perceived by the person who’s having a hard time getting pregnant, try saying something like, “I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’m here for you if you need to talk.” Conveying support and sympathy can mean the world to someone that’s fighting with their whole self to create a new life.

I love being a Kolcraft Mom! It allows me to review some really great products from Kolcraft and share them with you all! With that said, I was so excited to be able to review the Kolcraft Preferred Position 2-in-1 Bassinet & Incline Sleeper!
Absolutely praying that I will be pregnant again, soon, heck we have been actively trying for 2 full years now, sigh
So, praying that maybe this will be our month?? And, soon a newborn baby will be laying in this beautiful new bassinet!!!
When this arrived, it was in a big box! It was bigger then my 3-year-old
I opened the box and lots of pieces were inside…
(Don’t mind my daughters glow in the dark skeleton shirt, she dressed herself!)
It looks really overwhelming doesn’t it? But don’t let that picture fool you. It was super easy to put together. Me and my three-year old had it together in about 25 minutes!
Here it is, half way put together..
I like that there are lots of security snaps and clasps on this to keep it secure for baby…
When I watermarked this photo, I noticed an orb in it, moving towards the bassinet. Oh my goodness, this brought tears to my eyes.. could it be my lost babies or be the sign of a new one to come SOON?? Do you see it????!?
I love this bassinet! Isn’t it beautiful??
I love that it includes a Light Vibes electronic unit with classical music, nature sounds, vibrations, and soft-glow check light. And that it is removable too! (Requires 3 AA Batteries, not included).
The incline sleeper attachment is great for congestion in baby and can easily be removed when your baby no longer needs it. The bassinet and inclined sleeper are designed to be used by infants up to 3 months of age or up to a weight of 15 lbs. (Bassinet and Incline Sleeper should no longer be used by a child who can push himself/herself up on hands and knees) The incline sleeper is only sold with the bassinet, and not separately.
And, this bassinet will convert into a rocking bassinet easily, so you can rock your baby to sleep!
About the Kolcraft Preferred Position 2-in-1 Bassinet & Incline Sleeper (taken from their site):
The Preferred Position™ 2-in-1 Bassinet and Incline Sleeper is the only traditional bassinet that offers an option to help babies sleep when they suffer from colic or congestion. Developed in conjunction with medical professionals, the inclined surface helps alleviate congestion to give both mom and babies a peaceful sleep.
Features:
I loved how easy this bassinet was to put together, despite thinking it would not be. I love how nice it looks, all the wonderful features it includes (see above) and all the safety precautions it has to ensure baby will be safe and sound! I also love the storage space under the bassinet, for diapers, lotions, powders, toys or whatever baby needs, within reach.
Buy It!
This Kolcraft Preferred Position 2-in-1 Bassinet is sold exclusively at Babies R Us and there will be a new colorway launching in early August, that can be found at other retailers.
Disclosure:
I am a Kolcraft Mom and I was sent product to review. These are my own honest opinions. Thanks Kolcraft!
