Do inhalers help with anxiety or not? That is what I wanted to know when I first received the CalmiGo inhaler. This is unlike any inhaler you have ever seen or used before but? It works. This is NOT an inhaler for asthma, but it is a NATURAL inhaler for anxiety. Does that make sense? Okay, we will talk more about this in a second!!!
But first, let’s talk about anxiety!! I know everyone has suffered from anxiety or panic attacks at least one time in their life.
And? If you haven’t, consider yourself super lucky because anxiety and panic attacks are super real and they can really mess with your mental health as well as your quality of life. A stressful time could turn into a scary event in no time flat. It is a vicious cycle if you don’t get it under control.
Anxiety disorders can significantly impact the lives of both children and adults, often leading to debilitating panic attacks and a constant struggle to manage overwhelming feelings of anxiety.

Do Inhalers Help With Anxiety?
However, there is a groundbreaking solution that offers hope and relief to individuals facing these challenges with a little natural inhaler device! Do Inhalers Help With Anxiety? In this case, YES.
CalmiGo, the first and only natural, drug-free inhaler, empowers individuals to easily manage their anxiety and stop debilitating panic attacks in less than three minutes, anywhere and in any situation.
This, however, is not for an asthma attack or to help with asthma symptoms. This is only to help with your anxiety disorder or your panic disorder to help calm you down.
How Does CalmiGo Work (& Why Does It Rattle Inside?)
CalmiGo is a handheld device that provides relief from anxiety and stress through a combination of regulated breathing patterns, scent, and sensory stimulation. The device is designed to be portable, discrete, and easy to use, making it an ideal solution for managing anxiety on the go.
The CalmiGo runs on 2 triple-A batteries (AAA) and the batteries come included. CalmiGo comes in two different colors: purple and gray. The scents you can choose from are lavender, peppermint, and bergamot.
CalmiGo was specifically designed to guide your brain to effortlessly turn off the “fight or flight” response. It activates the parasympathetic nervous system and allows you to take control when you’re feeling the most anxious. So the main goal of CalmiGo is to calm you down as quickly as possible, in a natural way!
Don’t think your CalmiGo is broken if you hear a ‘rattle‘ when you shake or move it. That is supposed to be like that! It is because of the component of the mechanism that identifies your exhalations. So don’t worry about the little rattling you will hear!
Techniques CalmiGo Uses To Help You Calm Down Your Anxiety
Uses Calming Scents: The sense of smell has a direct connection to the limbic system in your brain. Its deep association with feelings and memories enables you to feel calm in anxious moments.
CalmiGo uses calming scents to activate parts of your nervous system that induce relaxation and a calmer state. Their scented plates use a unique technology of solidifying pure aromatherapy and essential oils that are non-GMO, organic, and vegan. There are no substances or drugs involved.
These scents usually last around 4-8 weeks (depending on how often you use them). And yes, you can use CalmiGo without the scented plates but it might take your body a bit longer to calm down as the scent is there to calm you.
It Grounds You: Grounding techniques are strategies that stimulate one’s senses to provide calm and improve anxiety, PTSD, stress, and well-being. CalmiGo gently stimulates four of your senses (smell, sight, hearing, and touch).
While breathing, CalmiGo engages four senses: vision – feedback lights on the device, hearing – vibration at the end of exhalation, smell – calming scents, and touch – the overall feeling of the device.
Breathing Regulation: Personalized exhalation prolongation activates the parasympathetic nervous system, thereby decreasing anxiety and balancing the stress hormone level.
CalmiGo’s unique patented technology learns your breathing pattern and gently guides you to extend your exhalations with indicative lights and vibration cues when the target length is reached.
Our Experience Using CalmiGo Inhaler Device
Before using the CalmiGo inhaler, I would have answered no to the question; Do Inhalers Help With Anxiety? But, since receiving the CalmiGo inhaler device about 2 weeks ago, my answer has changed.
My youngest son tends to get a lot of anxiety, especially at night before bed and then again when he gets in a car. So having the CalmiGo for him to use and knowing it is a natural way to calm his anxiety, is so wonderful!
No more having to worry about if I ‘gave him too much‘ or he is ‘using it too much‘. THAT gives ME anxiety! So knowing this is a natural way to alleviate his anxiety is so rewarding and helpful!
CalmiGo is simple to use too, so even my youngest son got the hang of it after I showed him a time or two. Now he just grabs it and uses it whenever he feels anxious.
It is so nice that he can calm himself down now without me having to be by his side watching him. Not that I don’t still do that but it is just nicer that he can use CalmiGo and it is natural.
One of the most significant benefits of CalmiGo is its ability to empower children (and adults) to take control of their anxiety.
For children, who may struggle to articulate their feelings or manage overwhelming emotions, CalmiGo offers a tangible and accessible tool for finding relief like it has for my youngest boy.
The simplicity of the device’s operation makes it suitable for individuals of all ages, allowing them to effectively manage anxiety in any situation especially a big social gathering.
I love that my youngest son can take his anxiety into his own hands and have control over it rather than it having control over him.
Since using CalmiGo I have noticed my son more calm after an anxiety-filled moment and I see that he feels more independent because he knows how to calm himself down quickly. It is a drug-free inhaler so no worries there (more on this below!)!
A Drug-Free Inhaler For Anxiety
Unlike traditional anxiety management methods that may involve medication, CalmiGo offers a natural, drug-free approach to alleviating anxiety and panic attacks.
This aspect is particularly important for individuals who prefer to avoid pharmaceutical interventions or who may be seeking alternative solutions for anxiety management.
By harnessing the power of regulated breathing and sensory stimulation, CalmiGo provides a non-invasive and effective way to address anxiety symptoms in children, adults, and the elderly.
Do Inhalers Help With Anxiety: Real Results
Individuals like my youngest son, who have incorporated CalmiGo into their anxiety management routines have reported significant improvements in their ability to cope with anxiety and prevent panic attacks.
The device’s ability to provide rapid relief (in less than three minutes) has made it a valuable tool for navigating challenging situations and reducing the overall impact of anxiety on daily life.
People who suffer from anxiety have limited options when it comes to anything natural. CalmiGo is a breath of fresh air for us and is also good for stress management too. So, do inhalers help with anxiety? In our case, yes, CalmiGo certainly helps!
What Happens To Your Body When You Start To Experience Anxiety?
So, what happens to your body when you start to experience anxiety? You might experience the following physical symptoms when you first start to feel anxiety and are in a stressful situation.
The symptoms below can be for anxiety or they can be panic attack symptoms that are coming on. Of course, every person is different and all levels of anxiety are different. However, I will name a few symptoms I get when I feel anxiety or panic coming on.
These are the symptoms of anxiety that I experience:
*fast heart rate
*chest tightness
*tense muscles (clenching your jaw, etc.)
*sweating
*shortness of breath (due to stress response) or difficulty breathing
*chest pain (I get chest pain when I get severe anxiety)
*mood changes (I get moody or really anxious feeling)
*Just to note that you should ALWAYS contact your doctor and get medical advice before you try anything new like any of the things above or breathing problems too.
And, no matter what symptoms you may have, it is always good to contact your doctor to ensure you are not having a heart issue (heart attack patients) as anxiety might imitate similar symptoms. I am NOT a doctor, just someone who uses CalmiGo!
Common Triggers For Anxiety Can Include:
These triggers can vary from person to person, and individuals may experience anxiety in response to a combination of these factors. Identifying and understanding these triggers is an essential step in managing and addressing anxiety effectively.
*Stressful Situations: High-pressure environments, work deadlines, or challenging life events can trigger anxiety. A common trigger for like 95% of my anxiety issues is from these things!
*Social Situations: Interactions with unfamiliar people, public speaking, or large gatherings may provoke anxiety in some individuals. Social situations have ALWAYS been difficult for me and I dread them! I will also sweat SO much and I hate it!
*Health Concerns: Dealing with illness, medical procedures, or health-related uncertainties can contribute to anxiety.
*Traumatic Events: Past experiences of trauma or exposure to distressing events can lead to anxiety symptoms. I have a couple of traumatic events that if I think about too much will lead to anxiety attacks!
*Caffeine: Consuming excessive amounts of caffeine can exacerbate anxiety symptoms in some individuals.
*Lack of Sleep: Inadequate or disrupted sleep patterns can contribute to heightened anxiety and stress levels.
*Financial Strain: Managing financial difficulties or facing economic instability can be a significant trigger for anxiety. This is another trigger for me! I mean who wouldn’t get stressed over money???
*Conflict or Uncertainty: Relationship conflicts, major life changes, or uncertainty about the future can lead to increased anxiety.
*Work or Academic Pressure: Demands related to work, school, or performance expectations can trigger anxiety in many individuals.
*Substance Abuse: Misuse of alcohol, drugs, or other substances can contribute to anxiety symptoms.
Of course, as I stated above, there are MANY MANY MANY other things that could trigger an anxiety episode or panic attack. The things I listed above are just the most common ones.
Helpful Relaxation Techniques
When you feel a panic attack or an anxiety attack coming on it can be so scary! I know! Most of my kids and I have anxiety pretty bad, ugh!
So, I learned some helpful relaxation techniques that have helped me and my kids in the past, that I wanted to share with you! They are below.
*Take A Deep Breath: Practice deep breathing exercises to calm the mind and body. For best results, it is a really good idea to breathe in slowly through the nose, hold for a few seconds, and then exhale slowly through the mouth. Using CalmiGo for this is sooooo helpful!
*Progressive Muscle Relaxation: Tense and then relax different muscle groups in the body, starting from the toes and working up to the head, to release physical tension and promote relaxation.
*Mindfulness Meditation: Engage in mindfulness meditation practices to focus on the present moment, acknowledge thoughts and feelings without judgment, and cultivate a sense of calm.
*Yoga: Explore gentle yoga poses and breathing techniques to reduce stress, increase flexibility, and promote relaxation. (They have some great yoga poses and exercises on YouTube for kids that my son will do on occasion).
*Nature Exposure: Spend time outdoors in natural environments such as parks, gardens, or near water to benefit from the calming effects of nature.
*Guided Imagery: Use visualization techniques to create mental images that promote relaxation and reduce anxiety. This can involve imagining peaceful scenes or positive outcomes.
*Aromatherapy: Utilize natural scents and aromatherapy such as lavender, chamomile, or citrus to create a calming atmosphere and promote relaxation. CalmiGo uses this!!! It is kind of like an essential oil inhaler because it incorporates that into this little device! Helps so much.
*Physical Activity: Engage in regular physical activity such as walking, dancing, or playing sports to release endorphins and reduce stress. (No, video games do NOT count!). Using exercise as therapy is always helpful and it works.
*Journaling: Encourage the expression of thoughts and emotions through writing (or drawing and coloring for younger kids) in a journal, providing an outlet for self-reflection and stress relief.
*Read A Book: You can read a book about anxiety or just a book about positive things to uplift your mood and make you feel better. I love reading so this has always helped me.
